The National Memorial Arboretum

After a short trip this morning in beautiful sunshine we stopped at Alrewas.  We walked up to the National Arboretum, after dicing with death crossing the A38 we arrived safely!  The Armed Forces Memorial is currently closed for maintenance but this prompted us to explore more of the Arboretum.  The area has matured over the years and is much more wooded now, it has a dignified ambiance which befits it's purpose.  Although the memorial is closed there is a new feature with photos of all the names on the walls.

  

Well worth a visit if you are in the area.
