Wet Wednesday and arrival at Anderton.

First of all, I should explain that the Internet here is dire, hence no pictures!  We arrived at Anderton Wednesday afternoon and moored bank side not 50 yds from the marina.  Full Internet, and TV .  Moved into the marina and the Internet is pants, the TV non existent...... How is that!

Anyway, Wednesday dawned a little dull.  We left our mooring in Middlewich and were quickly descending " Maureen's lock " aka Wardle lock.  Swift left and back on the T & M.  As we descended the three narrow and one broad lock as we exited Middlewich, the cloud built and it was decidedly chilly.  As we progressed along the lock free route,  the heavens opened. It was supposed to be showers, but this was a prolonged downpour.  We got a tad damp and cold and the sky remained cloudy and grey.  Our goal was Anderton.  We had booked in here in order that Ali could collect a car and attend a funeral in Mansfield.  By mid afternoon we had arrived, topped up at the services and moored opposite the marina ready to go in on Thursday.  The weather brightened by this time, so we walked to the boat lift and toured the site.  It does not seem like two years since we went down it and cruised the river Weaver.

Thursday morning saw us up and ready to move into the marina.  Quick reverse from our moorings and we were in.  The joy of having shore power, using the electric kettle and water " on tap" certainly brightened our day.  Ali was collected by Enterprise mid morning and we used the availability of this mobility to do a catch up.  The washing machine was hammered, then Ali went to a rather nice Launderette to dry off the loads.  Late afternoon, after I had completed a few minor jobs on the boat, we went into town and did what was for us a mega supermarket shop, making the most of the car.

Today, Ali was off at 0830.  The marina was busy with returning hire boats. We have a slight problem!  Ali noticed something banging at the boats bow when underway.  I strongly suspect a bow thruster cover has become detached and confirmation of this appeared when I tried the thruster!  Something is decidedly not right with perhaps a foreign object in the tube.  Anderton have a dock, so we are due in tomorrow morning ( Saturday ) in order to investigate this.

We may well be here over the weekend, but fingers crossed.
