The Great Escape

Well we are out! Timed to perfection. We were up at the crack of sparrow fart, watered up, emptied out and rubbish dumped and we were off. We knew the forecast was for rain after lunch, so we cracked on to Welford junction and were moored just after noon, passing Derwent 6 along the way, with  a quick chat and a wave.

We went for a walk down the Welford Arm, called in at the Wharf for a pint (well it would have been rude not too) and got back to the boat just as the heavens opened.

Our plan for this summer is to go to Market Harborough and then back down to Braunston, then down the Oxford onto the Thames (weather permitting) up to Lechlade, back down to Reading, onto the Kennet and Avon to Bath, possibly Bristol, back onto the Thames to London and onto the Grand Union, after that we have no idea, it will depend on how long that takes us.

Free!

Look at that blue sky (pity it didn't last!)

Suffolk Punch (sorry we didn't realise who you were)

Lovely countryside

One in front (we let this canal time through - we are not in a hurry)
