After many years of hiring, and having the build slot booked for the last two years, we are now in the process of designing our narrowboat Triskaideka, the hull build starts next month so all systems go!

This year we decided to cruise the Mons & Brecon canal, as we had heard great reports about the scenery and the area.  We were not disappointed, hiring from Cambrian Cruisers, starting from Pencelli near Brecon we cruised a sometimes challenging canal, due to the water levels being really low, but amusing as there are few moorings and trying to get into the bank was fun, we could have done with a plank the same length as the boat!  We had a great time, and were not disappointed by the canal, the scenery is absolutely lovely, as were the people we met.  The big hire companies could learn a lot from Cambrian as it is the best hire boat we have ever had, its fit out was comparable with a private boat and we wanted for nothing, they even provide two deckchairs!  We cruised as far as Mamhilad and then back to Brecon.

Some photos from our week, to start off our blog!

We would never have moored here if there had been any amount of boats on the canal, but its very quiet and this was the closest we could get in!
